I needed to get out for a bit, but don't like running in the morning, so a neighborhood hike seemed like a good idea. I didn't have any strong ambitions, but once I got going uphill, it felt like I should be able to make it to the bench at the beginning of The Vein. After passing through a couple of the new clear cuts, I went into Upper Space Junk and the trail deteriorated fast. Eventually it petered out and I chose to turn around rather than punch through snow over slash piles in my trail runners. It was a nice day in the woods, but it continued to frustrate me how much logging they did and how much it has transformed Mountain Station to be very little contiguous forest.
