Where Am I?

AM trail run with BC along the Little Spokane River

I like to geek out while having real experiences. I maintain an extensive GPS database from my hikes, bikes, runs, and skis dating back to 2008. Feel free to follow the georss feed, explore the map above or download the GPS tracks below.

BC and I got up *way* too early after a late night of rearranging the multi-family housing for our Spokane Trip. We did an *awesome* run in the Little Spokane River Natural Area. I was feeling very out-of-shape, but was very keen to do a run. We *were* going to do the climb first (counter-clockwise loop), but then we talked to some hikers at the trail head and they said to do it clockwise. They were TOTALLY right! I wasn't feeling great for the first part of the run along the river; it was mellow and relatively flat, but I was still hurting and considering turning around before the climb. Fortunately, I didn't. I fought though the climb and walked when I had to, and we took a short pit stop near the top. After we got to the top, the run down was amazing. Just a couple of switchbacks (on one we saw the party that we talked to at the TH and thanked them), and then the descent was a beautiful, even valley run all the way back to the car. The descent was *fast* and we were both feeling it at the end. We came in around 5 minute faster than our planned time. But... this was the *only* time that I had to myself the whole weekend (with a shit tonne of families and kids) and the Rosie and I had a huge fight afterward about how somehow (according to her) I should be so grateful for the opportunity to go for a run.
